Sihang Sun holds a master’s degree from Northeastern University, where he specialized in information design and data visualization. He tells stories with data.

In his current role at MassDOT, Sihang helps communicate complex transit data and findings through analysis, design, and code—making technical information accessible to a broad audience.

Before transitioning into data visualization, Sihang worked as a journalist covering Chicago’s Chinese communities. That experience continues to shape his approach to data, grounding his work in narrative, context, and human impact.

Years of study and professional practice in both journalism and design have shaped Sihang’s strengths in critical thinking, creativity, curiosity, and empathy. He brings a human-centered, editorial lens to data storytelling, using visualization as a tool to inform, clarify, and engage.
